Frequently Asked Questions

Uptime monitoring without compromise. Find answers to technical, billing, and security inquiries below.

Technical

Infrastructure & Monitoring

How StatusPulse checks your endpoints, handles SSL verification, and manages data exports.

How does the SSL certificate check work?

StatusPulse performs TLS/SSL handshake validation every 30 seconds from 12 global probe locations. We verify certificate expiration, chain of trust, and protocol compliance against CA/Browser Forum standards. If a certificate is within 14 days of expiry, the system triggers a P1 alert via your configured webhook or email channel.

Can I export historical uptime data?

Yes. All plans support CSV and JSON export for up to 24 months of historical data. Enterprise customers can enable automated S3 bucket sync with hourly aggregation. Exports include response times, downtime windows, and geographic breakdown per probe node.

What monitoring intervals are available?

Standard plans offer 30-second and 1-minute intervals. Pro and Enterprise tiers unlock 10-second active checks with synthetic transaction support. Downtime detection is guaranteed within two consecutive failed probes before alert routing begins.

Billing

Pricing & Account Management

Transparent pricing, refund policies, and how we handle upgrades and overages.

What is your refund policy?

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all monthly and annual subscriptions. Refunds are processed within 5 business days to the original payment method. Enterprise custom contracts include prorated credits for unused seats or monitor slots during onboarding.

Do you offer discounts for nonprofits or startups?

Yes. Verified nonprofits receive 30% off Pro plans. Early-stage startups (under 18 months, pre-Series A) qualify for our Launchpad tier at $29/month for up to 20 monitors. Apply through our partnership portal with valid documentation.

How are overages handled if I exceed my monitor limit?

StatusPulse never cuts off active monitors. If you exceed your plan limit, we continue monitoring and charge $1.50 per additional monitor per month. You’ll receive a dashboard notification at 80% capacity and a detailed usage report via email on the 1st of each month.

Security

Data Protection & Access Control

How we secure your monitoring infrastructure, manage authentication, and maintain compliance.

Is two-factor authentication (2FA) supported?

Yes. StatusPulse enforces TOTP-based 2FA via RFC 6238 compliant authenticator apps. We also support WebAuthn/FIDO2 hardware keys for Enterprise teams. Admin-enforced 2FA policies can be locked via SSO group mapping or role-based access controls.

Where is my monitoring data stored?

All telemetry and configuration data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and stored in isolated EKS clusters across AWS us-east-1 and eu-west-1 regions. You can select your primary data residency during workspace creation. Logs are retained for 13 months by default.

Do you undergo third-party security audits?

StatusPulse maintains SOC 2 Type II compliance and undergoes annual penetration testing by Cure53. Our full compliance report, including penetration test summaries and audit certificates, is available in the Trust Center after authentication.
